Join a class as a child

Before you start

• Ask your teacher for the class code. It has 6 characters.
• Your account needs your parent's yes first. If you don't see My classes in your profile, see Ask a parent for an account.

Steps

1. Tap your profile picture at the top right. MY PROFILE opens.
2. Under CLASSES, tap My classes.
3. Tap JOIN A CLASS.
4. Under CLASS CODE, type the code.
5. Read the line under it: "Your parent gets an email and says yes or no for this class. Your teacher sees nothing until your parent says yes."
6. Tap ASK MY PARENT.

The app says "We asked your parent." Asking needs a connection.

While you wait

A card shows the class name, the teacher's name and "Waiting for your parent's yes." To take back the question, tap Cancel.

The app checks for an answer each time you open My classes.

• Yes: the app says "Your parent said yes. The class is in My classes."
• No: the card says "Your parent said no. Everything else in the app keeps working." Tap OK.
• "The request ran out. You can ask again." Tap OK, then ask again.

If it doesn't work

• "You already asked for this class."
• "3 requests are already waiting. Wait for an answer first."
• "We can't reach your parent right now. Try again later."
• "We couldn't send the email. Try again later."

In the class

You do homework, send it and see shows like any student. See Do and send your homework. Your teacher sees your nickname. You can change it. See Rename yourself, report or leave a class.

A few things look different:

• There is no box for a video link.
• In Send to teacher, there is no Notes choice.

The class trial works the same way. When it ends, homework shows "Class homework is part of Premium." There is no button to buy anything there. See The class trial and Premium.
