Study a video frame by frame

Steps

1. Open a video from your phone. Tap its play button in a move or set, or the media button on a move in your library.
2. The video starts playing. Tap the picture to pause it.
3. Tap ‹ or › at the ends of the timeline to step one frame back or forward. Hold one to keep stepping.
4. Drag the filmstrip under the picture to move through the video. Tap it to jump.
5. Tap EDIT to show the study tools.
6. Under SPEED, tap 0.25×, 0.5×, 0.75× or 1×.
7. Tap LOOP to play it again and again.

Always there

• Play / pause button.
• Sound: videos start muted. Tap the speaker to turn the sound on. Below 1× the sound is always off.
• Full screen button.
• Zoom the picture: pinch it, up to 4×. Drag to look around. Double-tap to go back to normal.
• Zoom the timeline: pinch the filmstrip to see more or fewer seconds.

Behind EDIT

• Zoom in / zoom out buttons for the timeline.
• Rotate: turns the picture a quarter turn each tap. The file itself does not change.
• LOOP and SPEED. The app remembers both for each video.
• Handles, START, END, undo and redo, and SET AS CLIP. These pick a part of the video. See Save a clip as its own video.

The app remembers if you leave EDIT open. The first time, a short tip explains the handles. Tap Got it to close it.

Turn your phone sideways for a wider picture. The controls move to the sides.
